OrderPaperToday– Another bill seeking to establish a North Central Development Commission was read for the first time on Tuesday in the Senate.
The bill is sponsored by Senator Sani Musa (APC, Niger).
The introduction of this bill is the third since last week. The first was for a South East Development Commission and the second, for a South West counterpart.
They scaled first reading November 13 and 14 respectively.
There are currently North East and Niger Delta Development commissions in the country.
These commissions were established to serve specific purposes, including for addressing rehabilitation and insecurity in the regions owing to insurgency and the agitations.
