OrderPaperToday – A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Wale Raji, has mourned the death of his colleague, Mr. Abayomi Ayeola, saying the deceased was a fine legislator and a brother and friend to him.
Mr. Raji who represents Ekpe federal constituency of Lagos eulogised the late lawmaker saying he achieved a lot.
Speaking to OrderPaperNG on the phone, he said: “As you well know he was our leader, we members of the APC Lagos state in House of Representatives. He also was fine legislator, brother and friend. In fact, his death came to us as a rude shock but God knows best.”
Late Mr. Ayeola until his death was the chairman of the APC caucus in the House of Representatives.
The two-term lawmaker had clinched the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to contest for a third term in the 2019 general elections.
The lawmaker was laid to rest in his residence in Ekpe local government area of Lagos state at about 11.00am on Monday, 31 December, 2018 with some colleagues present.
So far, seven lawmakers have died since the inauguration of the 8th national assembly.
Two are from Lagos state, Mr. Elijah Adewale and Ayeola Abayomi. Others are from Katsina state, Kogi, Sokoto, Nasarawa and Kwara States.
