OrderPaperToday– The Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, on Thursday announced the suspension of public hearings in the Senate as part of measures taken by the chamber to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.
This decision was made after senators held an executive session that lasted for an hour.
Lawan also added that the gallery of the chamber will henceforth be shut and excursions stopped from March 24.
These actions were taken following the declaration of eight confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire on Wednesday.
