OrderPaperToday – The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabimila, has intervened to save a member, Mr. Bright Gogo (PDP, Rivers) from suspension as recommended by a disciplinary committee.
The ad-hoc committee chaired by Peter Akpatason (APC, Edo) had recommended the suspension of the lawmaker that was accused of attempting to remove the mace of the House during a rowdy session over the minority leadership crisis.
The committee submitted its report containing the recommendation on Thursday during plenary.
However, the accused lawmaker apologized and the speaker moved for the rescission of the recommendation.
The decision was adopted by the House and the record reflected accordingly.
