OrderPaperToday – A rowdy session ensued at an investigative hearing on fuel scarcity in the country on Thursday at the Senate when three individuals presented themselves as president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association (IPMAN).
The joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives Committees on Petroleum (Downstream) was thrown into surprise by the three representatives standing as the National Presidents of the association.
As the chairman man of the committee, Sen. Kabiru Marafa (APC, Zamfara) who declared the public hearing open asked for introduction of stakeholders Messrs Obasi Lawson and Sanusi Fari rose up and identified themselves as president of the association.
Immediately another acclaimed president, Okoronkwo Chinedu stood up and explained: “I am Okoronko Chinedu, elected IPMAN Chairman affirmed by the Appeal Court two weeks ago.”
In a bid to avoid further exchange of words, the committee eventually resolved that only Executive Secretary of IPMAN, Aminu Abdulkadir, would be recognized to speak for the association.
