DEVELOPING: Imo assembly majority leader, deputy resign positions

By Austin Ochigbo

OrderPaperToday – A gale of resignations is sweeping through the Imo State House of Assembly as the Majority Leader and deputy, Messrs Lugard Osuji and Kennedy Ibeh, have both resigned their positions a while ago.

Mr. Osuji in a letter to the Speaker said: “In the interest of the Imo State House of Assembly, I Lugard Osuji have this morning resigned my position as the Majority Leader of the House. I thank all my colleagues for the support they gave me while in office.”

Mr. Ibeh’s resignation was conveyed in a hand-written letter addressed to the Speaker of the Assembly, dated December 5th, 2017.

Although it is not yet clear what precipitated the developments, there are indications that more resignations may ring through the assembly.
