OrderPaperToday – Senator Ibrahim Shekarau (APC, Kano Central) has urged the Muslim faithful to keep praying for the end of the global pandemic even as they mark the Eid-El Fitri.
In a statement signed by Shekarau on Saturday, he celebrated with Muslims on the occasion of Sallah, marking the end of one month Ramadan fasting.
He said: “This year’s celebration came at a unique time that most Muslims may not enjoy the festivities due to the presence of Coronavirus world wide.
“This is part of the sacrifice we must make to help various governments fight the pandemic which has crippled both social and economic activities world wide. We should not relent in our prayers for the Almighty to bring to an end soon the scourge of this pandemic.
“I am optimistic with the policies put in place by the government and strict adherence of the various safety and protective measures as spelt out by the presidential Task Force on Covid 19, the end of this pandemic is in sight.”
He prayed that those who lost their loved ones during this period and wished all Muslim faithfuls a hitch free Sallah.
