OrderPaperToday – The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu, has revealed that the postponement of the election is an answer to a prayer he made.
He revealed that some months back, he prayed that the if the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is going to win, the election should be postponed, noting that the postponement is a sign from God.
Ekweremadu stated this while speaking at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 84th emergency National Executive Council (NEC) on Tuesday.
He however descried the election postponement as an embarrassment to the entire nation.
“I said to myself, God, if we are going to win this election, let it be postponed, so that would be the last sign for me as a believer in God, and behold, I woke up on Saturday morning, the election has been postponed,” he said.
He added: “Two months ago, I was contacted by some of my colleagues, at international Parliamentary Union, there was a meeting that was fixed, for last weekend, I was supposed to chair that particular meeting abroad, so I appealed to them about the election coming, that they should consider my interest, and they shifted it for one week, they obliged me and fixed it for 23 and 24th of February, when the election was postponed, I found it very embarrassing.”
