OrderPaperToday – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has expressed disappointment over the non-appearance of Service Chiefs in a crucial meeting called by the House to discuss the spate of insecurity in the country.

Among Service Chiefs who were absent at the meeting are: Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant-General, Tukur Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok Ete-Ibas; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall, Sadiq  Abubakar.

Addressing the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and heads of paramilitary agencies present at the meeting, Gbajabiamila announced Monday next week as new date for the meeting.
The speaker was particularly irked that one of the absentee was represented by an accountant. This happened in Abuja on Friday.
Hera him: “I am almost embarrassed at the absence of the Service Chiefs. There is no parliament in the world where Service Chiefs will be absent when invited on issues that concerns security in a country. It shows unseriousness on their part.”
Recall that the Service Chiefs yesterday met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Villa.
