OrderPaperToday – The just concluded national assembly election has fallen on a good side for Mr. Jika Dauda Haliru and set him on a journey to the 9th assembly Senate.
According to the INEC Returning Officer, Prof Usman Enafaty , the Bauchi Central senatorial district election was won by Jika, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 66,024 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bappah Aliyu of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) with a total score of 57,069.
The PDP flag-bearer and incumbent senator for the district, Isa Misau, came third in the election.
Mr. Jika was born in 1976 in Bauchi, Bauchi State. He is the member representing Ganjuwa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In 1999, he obtained the West African Senior Certificate (WASC) from Sardauna Memorial College in Kaduna, Kaduna State. He thereafter obtained a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from the Kaduna Polytechnic in 2003.
Jika served two terms as a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly from 2007 and during this period he served as Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly.
