OrderPaperToday – Senator Ya’u Sahabi (PDP, Zamfara North) has said he cannot risk his life to engage bandits on peace swap deals.
He made this reaction while speaking with journalists on Wednesday after plenary.
Asked if he accompanied the state Governor in recent peace deal with bandits who abducted locals, Sahabi said: “I will not risk my life to meet any bandits. I have not been to their camps. I don’t know how they live but certainly I know there are truces.”
According to him, because of the deal, banditry “is almost gone and becoming a history” in Zamfara state.
The Senator said there were no hidden arrangements as the state Governor only made use of “realistic ideas and approach.”
