OrderPaperToday – The Senate has sworn in Andrew Uchendu as the senator representing River East.

This was followed the ruling of the Appeal court which sacked George Sekibo on August 24.
The court had also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue a certificate of return to Uchendu which took place August 29. The Appeal court had upheld the decision of the tribunal.
Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu who presided over the plenary on Wednesday administered the oath of office.
Supporters of the newly sworn senator were seen in the national assembly complex chanting and singing praises.
