OrderPaperToday – President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has expressed his condolences to Senator Kabiru Gaya, over the death of his wife, Hajiya Halima Gaya.
In his statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Ola Awoniyi over the weekend, Lawan equally commiserated with the people and government of Kano State over the tragic loss of a pillar behind their former governor.
“I express my heartfelt condolences to the Gaya family and share their grief over the death of a beloved wife and loving mother.
“May Almighty Allah console the entire family, give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and accept the soul of the departed,” he said.
Similarly, the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege, has sent a condolence message to Gaya.
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yomi Odunuga, Omo-Agege noted that Halima even as a private citizen contributed to the improvement of the society.
He urged Senator Gaya and his family to find solace in the Islamic faith and the good memories left behind by Hajia Gaya, Senator Omo-Agege counselled that her legacies should be kept alive.
“It is from God Almighty that we came and unto Him we shall all return. It is the positive difference we are able to make for the betterment of the people around us during our earthly sojourn that matters.
“We all know the pains that such exit causes in every family and I pray that God Almighty grants His Excellency, our dear Senator Kabiru Gaya and all members of his family, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“It is noteworthy that Hajiya Gaya established schools to help address one of the greatest development challenges in Northern Nigeria and such noble legacy deserves to be sustained for the continuing benefit of the younger generation,” Omo-Agege stated.
