OrderPaperToday – The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Khadija Ibrahim, has resigned to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
The minister made this known when he confirmed to State House correspondents that Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting would be her last, shortly before the commencement of the meeting.
Mrs. Ibrahim is running to represent Damaturu/Tarmuwa/Gujba/Gulani Federal Constituency of Yobe State in the forthcoming general elections.
She defeated her son-in-law, Mohammed Ibrahim, to emerge the candidate of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) for the election.
The minister had earlier won the 2015 election into the green chamber before she was nominated for the ministerial appointment. She is married to an incumbent senator and former governor of Yobe State, Bukar Abba-Ibrahim.
