OrderPaperToday – The just concluded National assembly election has opened the door for Leke Abejide Joseph to join the House of Representatives this coming assembly for the very first time.
Mr. Leke who was the candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) earned the seat to represent Yagba East /Yagba West /Mopa Muro federal constituency of Kogi state after defeating Abimbola Henry Tuesday of the All Progresive Congress (APC) and Fabola Bola James of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) among other candidates.
Mr. Leke was born on 8th May, 1975 to High Chief and Chief Mrs. Abejide in Alu, Yagba East local government area of Kogi state. He is a graduate of Economics at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and a Master’s Degree holder from Bayero University Kano.
He began his working career with a Turkish firm in 2004 and rose from a supervisor to become Nigeria Representative in 2007. He later ventured into private business and founded ABYEM INT’L LTD as the chairman and chief executive officer, a position he held till date.
In March 26th, 2015, his foundation staged an official disbursement of N12million to the good people of Yagba federal constituency to reduce the poverty level among a people who are known to be very industrious. He also assisted the indigent students who are making waves in their academic pursuits in the tertiary institutions.
He contested for Yagba House of Representatives primaries but lost to Mr. Sunday Karimi, the incumbent member in 2015.
