OrderPaperToday – Following the failure by the Executive to forward the new version of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) to the National Assembly, the House of Representative has proposed a national stakeholders workshop on Petroleum Industry Reforms.
This is in furtherance of the House commitment to ensure the passage of a legal framework for the management of the Petroleum Industry in Nigeria.
According to a statement by Mr. Victor Nwokolo, Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), the workshop is scheduled to hold from Monday 13th to Wednesday 15th June, 2016 at the International conference center, Abuja.
It is expected that the deliberations at the workshop with stakeholders will enhance the quality of the Bill.
Consequently, the workshop will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Nigeria Petroleum Industry, and also appreciate the opportunities and challenges of the sector, which will lead to the emergence of appropriate drafts that is line with national interest.
