OrderPaperToday – The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed into second reading the 2019 Appropriation bill and accordingly committed the proposal to standing committees.

The House had earlier suspended debate on the budget bill last week due to perceived errors which the federal government later clarified in a public statement.

The House had also focused attention on the minimum wage bill which it passed today.

As it is now, the committees are expected to commence work on the details of the budget which was presented amidst drama to a joint session of the National Assembly on December 19, 2018 by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Unlike the House, the Senate had shunned any action on the budget before it proceeded on its elections-induced recess last week.
