Sani disses El-Rufai in Twitter tango with Ben Bruce

OrderPaperToday – Sen. Shehu Sani (APC, Kaduna) has thrown his weight behind his colleague, Sen. Ben Murray- Bruce (PDP, Bayelsa) over the latter’s Twitter war with the Governor of Kaduna state, Nasir el-Rufai.

The senator and governor engaged in a Twitter on Saturday over the rail project commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State during the week.

Buhari alongside El-Rufai inaugurated new rail vehicles for the Kaduna–Abuja train service at Rigasa train station on the 4th of January, 2018.

But in a post on Twitter, Murray- Bruce then took to his twitter page to challenge Buhari on the ownership of the project.

He said: “I hope President @MBuhari remembers to say thank you to former President @GEJonathan for the train ride he enjoyed in Kaduna.

“Some of us haven’t forgotten that that achievement was ENTIRELY the handiwork of the Jonathan government. Nigeria should give honour to whom honour is due.”

But in a swift reaction, the governor of Kaduna lashed back, also on Twitter saying, “Wrong Distinguished Senator! The Obasanjo administration which Jonathan was not part of, designed, raised the financing and started the EPC of the Lagos-Kano dual track-standard gauge rail system, and the Abuja Light Rail. Yar’Adua-Jonathan stalled both projects for two years!”

In a riposte, an apparently infuriated Sen. Ben replied: “Your dislike of the late Yar’adua may have clouded your judgment. I made no mention of the ‘Abuja light railway’. My tweet referred to the Abuja-Kaduna railway which is a product of the Jonathan administration. I am happy to publicly debate this with you.”

Jumping into the fray however, Sani, who is a political arch-rival of El-rufai, took a diss at the governor via his twitter page @shehusani and said: “I was born in Kaduna,I live in Kad, I represent Kad. There was never any modern rail project in Kad or from Kad  except the one started ‘to near completion’ under GEJ & now completed by the PMB Govt. If there was any under any other Govt perhaps it was invisible.@benmurraybruce”
