OrderPaperToday – Immediate past Senate President, Bukola Saraki has expressed sadness over the recent killings of Nigerians in South Africa.
Recall that the current Senate through the chairman committee on Diaspora, Ajibola Bashiru, recently urged Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, to meet with his counterpart in South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa to end the mindless attacks.
Reinforcing this call, Saraki in a tweet on Tuesday said: “I am saddened by the unfortunate events in South Africa. Nigerians should be allowed to carry out legitimate businesses without fear for their lives.
“I encourage @NigeriaGov and @CyrilRamaphosa to take decisive actions that will send a strong message. Every Nigerian lives matter.”
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama had earlier today called for a meeting with South African High Commissioner.
