OrderPaperToday – President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has called for a meeting of the National Assembly leadership tomorrow to discuss on national issues.
This followed an appeal from the Presidency on Sunday to for the legislature to reconvene from its recess and deliberate on pending issues such as funding for the 2019 elections.
Tomorrow’s meeting is also against the back drop of allegations of impeachment moves against Saraki following his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Recall that members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the green chamber had alerted the public to the impeachment plot, indicating that they would keep vigilance to avert such possibility.
On the NASS meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Saraki’s Special Assistant on International Relations, Omisore Bamikole, disclosed details in a tweet on Monday.
He also informed the public that the NASS leadership meeting will be followed by another meeting with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmud Yakubu.
He said: “NASS leadership will tomorrow meet at noon to consider some national issues. ‬
“‪The National Assembly leadership comprises both @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR .‬

“‪It will be followed by another meeting with the leadership of @inecnigeria led by its chairman, Prof Mahmud Yakubu.”
