OrderPaperToday- The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, has issued a one-week ultimatum to 12 ad hoc committees over their failure to complete reports given since 2017.
Twelve senators were mentioned as chairmen of these committees, seven are from the All Progressives Congress (APC) while five are from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Most of the committees started investigations but eventually abandoned them.
While giving the instruction, Saraki noted that some reports have been submitted but are yet to be considered. He said the chamber will prioritise the reports and bills due for consideration.
“There are some that have been collated and laid but not considered, while those that are long overdue be submitted within a week so that we can take all these reports and treat them. Also there are a lot of considerations for third reading that we’ll also make priority over our second reading so that we can make a lot of complete process.
