OrderPaperToday – The Senate has approved the 2017 budget of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF).
The NCC’s budget comes up to the sum of N204 billion while the USPF is N9 billion.
The approval was made after the Chairman of Senate Committee on Communications, Gilbert Nnaji, presented the report.
Some lawmakers resisted the approval of the 2017 budget as a result of the recent passage of the 2018 budget, but the Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, intervened.
The 2017 budget spending was then extended to the 30th of June 2018.
