OrderPaperToday – The Senate on Thursday approved the 2018 budgets for Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF).
The reports of the Committee on Communications was presented by its Chairman, Gilbert Nnaji at plenary.
In accordance with Section 19 (1) of the NCC Act, the commission projected its revenue at N161,775,000,850.00 which consists of annual license received, annual operating levy, Spectrum fee, sanction fees among others.
The total expenditure for the year is pegged at N147.6 million with a budget surplus of N14. 1 billion.
N12, 235,004,000.83 was also approved for the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) in compliance with section 114 (1) and 2(a) of the Nigerian communications Act, 2003.
The expenditure profile shows its recurrent expenditure at N1.7 billion, total capital and project expenditure at N34 million and N10.4million respectively.
