OrderPaperToday – The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Anthony Ojukwu as the Executive Secretary, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).
Equally confirmed is a U.S-based Professor, James Momoh, for appointment as Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
Momoh replaced Akintunde Akinwande after the latter was rejected by the red chamber on April 2017 for failing to repeatedly show up for screening.
The Chairmen of the committees of Judiciary, Human Rights and Legal Matters, David Umaru and Power, Steel Development and Mettallurgy, Enyinnaya Abaribe presented their reports on Tuesday.
The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu who presided over plenary urged the appointees to make the best use of their positions in a way that would reflect the best wishes of the people.
