OrderPaperToday – The Senate, on Thursday, passed for third reading, the Chartered Institute of Customer Relationship Management Bill, 2017.
The bill seeks to establish a body that will be charged with the responsibility of regulating the practise of customer relationship in Nigeria and upholding the standard of professional practice.
The 21 clause bill originated from the House of Representatives and was sponsored by Mr. Chike Okafor (APC, Imo).
According to Okafor the essence of the Institute is “to determine the academic qualifications, knowledge and skills of persons seeking to become members of the Chartered Institute of Customer Relationship Management in Nigeria.
“It is an organisation of customer-service representatives, customer-service executives, customer- relationship managers, among others.
“It promotes and supports interests in customer service and customer relationship management.”
