Senator on Anenih: ‘His death remains a shock’

OrderPaperToday- Senator Clifford Ordia (PDP, Edo) has described the death of the former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) BoT Chairman, Anthony Anenih as a ‘shock’.

Anenih, 85, died on Sunday evening at Cedarcrest Hospital, Abuja where he was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment.

In a telephone conversation with OrderPaper Nigeria on Monday, Senator Ordia, who was audibly in low spirits, said the deceased was a very good father to him.

The Edo central Senator said: “The news of his death seems to last as a whole shock and I have taken solace in the lord and I know that God is going to grant him eternal rest. He is the greatest political leader Nigeria has ever had. Because he was a very frank and respected leader.

“He was well trusted because everything that comes from his mouth is from his innermost mind he does not change his words. We are going to miss him a great deal. Nigerians are going to miss him. He was very instrumental to my becoming the senator in my state. You know his political journey and how it affected our people positively even in his death, we going to continue to remember him.”
