OrderPaperToday- As the political class continues to reel in shock, tributes have started pouring in for the late governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Abubakar Audu.
Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal and Speaker of Osun State House of Assembly, Mr. Najeem Salaam have both mourned the demise of Audu.
Governor Tambuwal in a statement by his spokesman, Mallam Imam Imam, enjoined family members and supporters of Audu to take heart and “consider the death of the respected politician as an act of God that can happen to all mortals at appointed time.”
The Sokoto governor said the deceased lived a life of service “whose concern for the unity, stability and progress of Kogi remained unshakable until his last breath.”
The Governor prayed to God to grant Audu eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the loss. 
On his part, Mr. Salaam described Audu’s death as shocking and a great loss to the people of Kogi state.
A statment by the speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Goke Butika, released in Osogbo today said: “There must be something special about the deceased that attracted him to his people so much that they were ready to elect him anytime he showed interest in an election.”
