OrderPaperToday- A bill seeking to establish a South West Development Commission has been introduced in the Senate.

The bill sponsored by Senator Ibikunle Amosun (APC, Ogun) is coming just a day after a similar South East Development Commission bill was passed for first reading.

There are currently commissions for North East and Niger Delta regions in the country.

These commissions were established to address peculiar concerns such as insecurity owing to insurgency and the restive oil situation in these regions.

While that of the South East is making a comeback from the 8th Assembly, the Amosun-sponsored South West Development Commission Bill is a fresh introduction to the legislative mill.
