OrderPaperToday – The President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, reacted to the challenge mounted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) against his strong hold on Kwara State, saying it remains “very strong.”
Since he inherited the political dynasty of his late father, Oloye Abubakar Saraki, the Senate President has maintained a firm grip on the politics of Kwara even after serving as governor for two terms and picked his successor and almost all public officials serving both in the state and at the federal level.
Speaking on his chances of delivering Kwara to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming general elections, Saraki expressed optimism in spite of the APC challenge led by Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mr. Lai Mohammed.
In an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday, Saraki told his host that his hold on Kwara “is very strong. You will see that when the result (of the elections) comes. We would go to election and we will win.”
Asked what will happen if the Kwara people vote against his political structure, he said: “The people of Kwara state will not because they know those that are committed and working hard for them.
“They know they cannot trust Kwara state in the hand of this (APC) people. Every time we go to election, there is always this propaganda. They know the choices. They know those that are there with them, those that care for them.”
According to him, the people of Kwara state are fed up with the APC administration and are ready to vote for the PDP.
