OrderPaperToday – Isaac Alfa was on Wednesday sworn in as the representative of Kogi East senatorial district in the Senate.
Alfa will be replacing Atai Aidoko, the previous occupier.
The senatorial seat has been fraught with a series of legal battles.
Both contenders laid claim to the seat as being the authentic candidate of the PDP that won the election.
Alfa was initially sworn in as the representative in June 2015 but was sacked in 2016 and Aidoko was inagurated in his place.
In January 2019, the apex court struck out the appeal of Aidoko challenging a court’s decision throwing him out of the red chamber.
Alfa recently urged the Senate President, Bukola Saraki to swear him in as the representative of Kogi East.
Meanwhile, the tenure of the 8th Senate comes to an end in June 2019.
