OrderPaperToday – The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal in Delta State on Saturday sacked Senator representing Delta South, James Manager, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Manager’s main opponent, Emmanuel Uduaghan, Delta South Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and immediate past Governor of the State had petitioned the tribunal, arguing that the election was marred by fraud and irregularities.
A three man panel presided over by Justice C. O. Onyaebo affirmed the petitioned file and ordered the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued Senator Manager.
According to Onyeabo, the defendants could not defend case of over voting and irregularities against them.
The Justice told INEC to conduct a fresh election within 90 days.
The election is expected to take place in the following local government areas: Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Isoko North, Warri South-West and Warri North.
Meanwhile, the election Petition Tribunal Panel III presided by Justice E.I Ngene nullified the petition seeking to remove Senator representing Delta North, Peter Nwabaoshi of the PDP.
The petition was filed by APC candidate, Doris Uboh citing irregularities.
