OrderPaperToday – The members of the House of Representatives could have their holiday cut short over the xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa.
The Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila who is presently in Tanzania at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference tweeted that he will return to Nigeria today to meet with the leadership on the possibility of cutting short the holiday.
The Holiday ought to last till the 17th of September, 2019.
‘Will be cutting short my trip to Tanzania for the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference @CPA_Secretariat and will be leaving today, for the leadership of the
@HouseNGR to consider cutting short the recess and reconvening for one day to address the killings of Nigerians in SA” he tweeted on Tuesday.
In 2017, Gbajabiamila as the majority leader of the House led a delegation to South Africa over the killings.
